Economist: Bad jobless news unlikely to affect N.H.

New Hampshire elected officials comment on recent June employment report.
Rep. Frank Guinta: "June's unemployment numbers are a sad reminder that the new middle class jobs needed for economic recovery are nowhere in sight.....It is further evidence that the 'stimulus' driven spending spree of recent years produced little but deeper debt."
Sen. Kelly Ayotte: Ayotte suggests confidence can be restored in America by getting its fiscal house in order. "That means taking significant actions to reduce our $14.3 trillion national debt, overhaul our complicated tax code, and strengthen our entitlement programs....We must also eliminate onerous federal regulations that hurt our businesses and make it harder for them to compete, invest, and hire more workers."
Sen. Jeanne Shaheen: "This serves as more proof that, while our economy is recovering, putting people back to work must remain our top priority in Washington, ahead of all else....We need to continue supporting our small businesses, investing in infrastructure and energy, and educating our students so they can compete in today's global economy."
